What to Expect During acne treatment
Optima Medical Spa offers many therapy options to control and maintain acne. Let's clear up your symptoms. For less severe cases of acne, prescription medications, such as topical solutions and creams that contain retinoids, salicylic acid, sulfur, and benzoyl peroxide, can help. There are also oral antibiotics, such as tetracycline, minocycline, or doxycycline that are helpful to use. Depending on what type of acne you have, we may suggest acne facials, chemical peels, radiofrequency microneedling, and/or extractions.
We have IV nutrient therapies to replenish your skin from the inside out with an infusion of Vitamins A, C, D, E, and zinc for supplementation.
You may qualify for laser therapies we have here at Optima Medical Spa that are proven effective acne treatments. Laser acne treatments deep clean and eliminate the bacteria and dead skin cells on your skin. It can also help reduce inflammation and redness linked with acne. There are many opportunities for you to try to get your skin healthy and clear.
How Long is Recovery Following Acne Treatment?
The recovery time for your specific acne treatment will vary based on your treatment plan. Topical remedies and IV therapies should have no or very few complications or sensitivities. If you had a chemical peel, you may expect some redness and peeling of the skin, but this is normal and will dissipate over time. Like the chemical peel, if you had microneedling, you should be able to get right back to your daily routine. With laser therapy, you may experience some redness, puffiness, and skin sensitivity; however, you can expect to see results within 24 – 48 hours. After your acne treatment, Dr. Ishaaya or a member of the team will go over a home care routine with you to ensure you heal properly and are able to create a beneficial routine at home. No matter which option you choose, our team will probably schedule follow-up sessions to keep your skin healthy and glowing.
